MILDRED (MILLIE) BROWN Mildred (Millie) Brown born in Brandon, MB on May 25, 1911 passed away in Kelowna on May 1, 2003 - just about 92! Millie had a career in hairdressing in Brandon and was married to Jack Eadie - a salesman for Gillis and Warren. They enjoyed their summer at Clear Lake with boating, fishing, family and friends. After Jack passed away from Leukemia, Millie married Doc Brown, a pharmacist from Winnipeg. They spent happy years enjoying their golf - a good game of poker, horse races, dog races and entertaining friends and family and many trips to Florida. For the winter months they resided in Reddington Beach, FL truly enjoying visitors and especially stepdaughter Lorraine and her family every Christmas and Thanksgiving. In the late 1970s Millie and Doc moved to their dream home in McDougall Creek, Kelowna. Doc passed away shortly after their move and Millie continued to enjoy life with friends, yearly cruises and truly enjoyed her association with The Spanners. She loved when she had visitors from out of town and would cook up a great meal for them. Always willing to sit down and play cards, have a shot of scotch and tell some cute jokes. After Millies health failed she moved into Twin Maples and truly enjoyed her new life with much kindness shown from the staff. The next move was to Orchard Manor where she resided for a year and a half. The family extend many thanks to Garth and Sheila Burton over the past several years for their loving care fulfilling Millies needs on a daily basis, true advocates for Millie. Millie was predeceased by her brother-in-law Margs husband Frank of Brandon, MB, her stepdaughter Lorraine Wilson of Louisiana and her grandson Waynes wife Sharon of Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her sister Marg Walker; niece Lynn (Larry) nephews, Keith (Judy), Wayne (Astrid) and Murray (Gladys) her stepson-in-law Everett Wilson; five grandchildren, Mary, Teresa, Mike, Chris, Jinny; and 12 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, no funeral upon Millies request. Final resting place will be in Brandon. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kelowna General Hospital.
