JUNE MAGDELINE CONNON (nee KLEIN) On April 28, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, June passed away at Concordia Hospital. June was predeceased by her husband Stanley; and sisters, Elsie and Beenie; parents, Joseph and Pauline Klein. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Beverley Bauer (Larry) and Janice Dandurand, husband Keith; grandchildren, Trevor and Ryan Bauer, Marc, Nicole and Kristian Dandurand; her sisters, Lillian LeBlanc, Irene Drew; brother Fred Klein; brother-in-law Grant Lovie; and numerous nephews and nieces and many special friends. June was born on June 1, 1931 in Broadview, SK and grew up in Cypress River, MB where she met and later married Stanley after his return from the Second World War. They were married in 1950 and moved to Winnipeg shortly after. June worked at Eatons Mail Order Centre and Perths until her illness with MS made it difficult for her to continue working. June dedicated her life to her family and was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother. She had a hardy laugh and always had a kind word and gentle manner. June had a great love for animals and supported the Winnipeg Humane Society faithfully. The family would like to express their thanks to her friend Marie Pukalo for her many years of friendship and caring for Mom. The family would also like to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for the kindness and dignity shown to Mom. Special thanks to Dr. Harris for her cancer care. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Junes life will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., on Thursday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Junes memory to CancerCare Manitoba, MS Society of Manitoba or to the Humane Society. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small, With loving heart and helping hands For us you gave them all. Many thanks for the years you gave us. And the times we shared, We only pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. -Always remembered and sadly missed by your daughters, Bev Bauer (Larry) and grandsons, Trevor and Ryan; Janice and husband Keith Dandurand and grandchildren, Marc, Nicole and Kristian.
