WILBERT NAUROCKI It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Wilbert Victor Naurocki, on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at the age of 79. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 54 years Wanda; children, Bertha (Norman), Roy (Sharon), Wade (Kathi) and Tracy (Bruce). Wilbert is also survived by his grandchildren, Crystal, Kimberly, Renne, Jason (Sheri) and Lisa; and great-grandchildren Brennen, Tristan and MacKenzie. He also leaves to mourn his sister Nellie Chorney (Edward) and many nieces and nephews. Wilbert was predeceased by his parents, John and Frances Naurocki; his daughter Sharon (1993) his sisters, Helen and Bertha; and his brothers, Stanley, Joe and John. Wilbert was born in Beausejour on January 29, 1924. He attended Sebright School and then farmed with his father John, brother Stanley and stepbrothers John and Joe Sabatowski. Wilberts early years of farming included, following behind a plough and team of horses, pitching sheaves of wheat unto a wagon and making stacks of loose hay for cattle. In 1949, Wilbert and Wanda were married and remained on the family farm where they raised five children. Dad taught us the many skills required to look after livestock and grow the different varieties of crops. Wilbert enjoyed hunting with his brothers and cousins. In his retirement years, he turned his farm into a wild-life refuge for deer by posting "No Hunting" signs on the fence lines. Wilbert farmed with his sons until he decided to retire at the age of 63. However, he still insisted that he be given something to do during the day. In the evenings, he enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee. Wilbert continued to help farm until 1999 when at the age of 75, his health began to slow him down. In spite of this, he still wanted to help on the field; after all, farming was his life. Wilbert enjoyed the many auction sales he attended, family weddings, Christmas Eves, Easter Sundays and Spring time, when his daughters would go out and pick morels and cook him a fresh meal, his favourite. Wilbert and Wanda spent many days together at Beau-Head Senior Club functions and Karaoke nights at the hotel and legion. Wilbert touched the lives of his family, many friends and neighbours. He will always be a part of our lives and remain in our hearts. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, MB with Msgr. W. Cwieka officiating. Interment will follow at the Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Beausejour. Pallbearers will be Norman McKoluff, Bruce Modrzejewski, Jason Naurocki, Gary Naurocki, Roger Chorney and Edward Sabatowski. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Wilberts memory may be made to Beausejour Health Centre, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB ROE OCO SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or Man Toll Free 1-877-776-2220.
