HOWARD GARDINER On Wednesday, April 23, 2003, Howard went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, at the age of 70 years old. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife Irene; his son Byron (Tammy) his daughter Karen (Pete) Wreggitt; his daughter Colleen; granddaughter Tricia Scott; grandson Wade Gardiner; grandson Dale Scott; sister Clara (Albert) Barkley; numerous nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Melissa Gardiner; sister Irene Busby, sister Beatrice Klassen, sister Janet Bitze, sister Gertrude Gardiner; brother Amos Gardiner; and granddaughter Stephanie Gardiner. Howard was born in Reston, MB on December 25, 1932. He grew up in Portage la Prairie and later attended Winnipeg Bible College. In 1956 Howard and Irene were married. Howard went on to Pastor Hudson Community Church, Portage la Prairie Bible Baptist Church and then Tabor Baptist Church in Winnipeg. In 1979 Howard and Irene retired from pastoring and returned to their roots in Hudson, where they worked for the local mill until they retired. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service time. Interment and reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the C.N.I.B., 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg MB R3G 3M3, or Meno Ya Win Hospital, P.O. Box 909, 5 Avenue Site, Sioux Lookout, ON.
