Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLY IRENE MACKEAN (nee Wright) Beverly Irene MacKean of Comox, BC, passed away at home in her sleep, on Sunday, April 27, 2003. Bev was born in Minnedosa, MB on May 30, 1933, but spent most of her childhood in Winnipeg. She developed rheumatoid arthritis as a child, but despite her disabilities, lived a full and active life. Bev married Flight Cadet Douglas MacKean, also of Winnipeg, on March 29, 1956. Douglas career with the Canadian Armed Forces took the MacKean family to many places across Canada. They retired in Comox, BC in 1990. Bev was predeceased by her brother Sam, and her sister Noreen Judge. She is survived by her brothers, Donald (Carole) of Saskatoon and Robert (Cecelia) of Castlegar; sisters, Marion and Valerie (Chris) De Haan of Winnipeg, and Laurie (Dennis) Fredricksen of Calgary; daughters, Gail (Bill) Brunton of Calgary and Lynne (Stephen) Simonis of Victoria; and grandchildren, Ellen and Samuel Brunton of Calgary, and Carolyn and Jennifer Simonis of Victoria. A memorial service for Bev will be held at the 888 Wing RCAF Association, 1298 Military Row, Comox, BC, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bevs memory can be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society, British Columbia & Yukon Division, 200-1645 West 7th Ave., Vancouver, BC V6J1S4.
