Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR DESHARNAIS It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Arthur after a long and courageous battle with a complicated illness on April 28, 2003. In his 59th year, Arthur passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 36 years, Louise; children, Robert (Sandi), Lynn (Brian), Michelle (Marc), Alain (Jodie) and grandchildren, Devon and Cameron. Arthur will also be missed by his brothers, Paul (Simone), Gerard (Noellia) and sisters, Margaret (Omer), Therese, Annette, Cecile (Louis), Marie (Doug), Yvonne (Rene) and sisters-in-law, Anne and Rita; as well as the rest of his family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Zepherin and Adrienne; brothers, Andre and Denis. Arthur was born in St. Pierre, MB and moved to Winnipeg in his teenage years. At the age of 23 he married Louise and together they raised their family, enjoying many activities such as camping, canoeing and skiing. In more recent years he loved to spend quality time with his two grandchildren. Arthur was a generous and strong willed man. He had a unique sense of humour which remained with him even in lifes trying times. He always supported his family and others in any direction they chose offering his help and advice. His patient and kind hearted nature will never be forgotten. Special heartfelt thanks to the nursing and professional staff on H3, D3, SICU and MICU of the Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and kindness. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the many doctors of the orange and gold services as well as a thanks to all who came to visit him over the last few years. Funeral service celebrating Arthurs life will be held on Friday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 1007 St. Marys Rd. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund in Arthurs memory has been set up at the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, MS7-820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1R9.
