FRED DENISCHUK On Monday, April 28, 2003, Fred Denischuk passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 6 days, with his wife by his side. Fred was born November 22, 1926 in Gardenton, MB. He was the youngest of 13 children. Fred was predeceased by his parents, six sisters, and five brothers. He is survived by his wife Pauline, children, Dan (Christine), Fred Jr. (Susan), Debbie (Roland) Marohn, and Edward Denischuk; one sister Sophie Uhryn; eight grandchildren, Kevin and Craig Denischuk, Blake and Melanie Denischuk, Scott, Patty, Jodi, and Jerod Marohn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gigi always delighted in reminiscing about his grandchildren and their accomplishments. Fred and Pauline were married in Winnipeg. In 1954 they purchased Glen Cafe and operated the business for 22 years. Fred was very active as a volunteer in the community, chairman of the Skating Rink Committee, member of the Fire Brigade, town council, and the curling club. He was also an avid gardener. Fred will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Glenella Community Hall with Rev. Debra Orton officiating and Sherry Hanna presiding at the organ. The service terminated at the hall and cremation followed. Pallbearers were Freds grandchildren, Scott Marohn, Patty Marohn, Jodi Marohn, Jerod Marohn, Melanie Denischuk, and Kevin Denischuk. Honorary pallbearers were Shirley and Frank Heintz, Boyd and May Clayton, Gerry and Margaret Dandeneau, Shirley and Bob Keighan, Rose Dayholos, Verna and Vern Scott, and all friends in attendance. The family met with friends for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the hall following the service. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Glenella United Church or to a charity of ones choice. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
