FRED SKOROPET Peacefully, after a brief illness our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at the Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk, MB. Predeceased by his parents, Parashka (1960), and Harry Shkoropad (1958) brother John (1941) sister Anne (1985) his son Richard James (December 22, 1985). Fred is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sophie (Kernatz) his nine children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Fredrick (Florence), Jason, Bernice Gregorash (George), Nellie Fedurk (Harry), Daryl and Jena, Betty Brown (Mike), Bobby, Darcy, Sandy (Victor), great-granddaughter, Kaitlynne, Nick (Elizabeth), Ashley, David, son Randy, Katherine Schaifer (Dave), Amber, Jayne Grosjean (Phil), Patricia Skoropet (Richard), Jonathon. Fred was born March 22, 1917 at Bifrost Municipal at Sylvan, MB. He married Sophie Kernatz on October 26, 1946 at St. Michaels Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipeg. Fred farmed for 57 years, log cutting at lake St. George, custom thrashing and he also helped and worked for various neighbours when needed. Fred also enjoyed, in his pastime, playing bingo, cards (King Pedro), fishing. At 78 years of age he exercised by riding his bike. His regular pastime was driving his truck around the quarter section checking out the activities going on in his neighbourhood. Funeral service to be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, in Fisher Branch, MB at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 3. Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment to follow at Sylvan Cemetery. Many thanks to all the staff at Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, MB and Tudor House Personal Care Home (Zone 4), Selkirk, MB. Many thanks for the years you gave us and the times we shared, We only pray that when you left us, You knew how much we cared.
