MURRAY ALBERT COATES 1927 - 2003 Murray Coates passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 with his family by his side. Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of five years, Elsie; sons, Ken (Lee), Brian (Zenith), Michael (Barb) daughters, Nancy (David) Van Wyck, Kathy (Ralph) Turner; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by three sisters, Mabel Wilson, Alice Webster, Dorothy Stocks (Ivan) and also Elsies family. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret in 1993. Murray was born in Carman and raised on the family farm in the Pomeroy district where he farmed for over 60 years. Murray was active on numerous boards and was very community spirited. He loved to curl, hunt, fish, golf, play pool, and travel. His love of the land was evident in everything that he did. Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2 at Carman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Waldie and Chuck Ross officiating. Family interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Roland, prior to the service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
