NICHOLAS ONYSKI With the love and comfort of his family surrounding him, Nicholas (Nick) Onyski, aged 84 years, peacefully passed away at St. Josephs Residence on Tuesday, April 29, 2003. Nick was born September 20, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces having served overseas. He married Josephine (Jo) Werbicki on July 6, 1946. They were blessed with three daughters. He worked at The Winnipeg Tribune as a newspaper pressman for 28 years until its demise in 1980. Nick and his family were active both spiritually and socially in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Parish. He is survived by his beloved wife Josephine (Jo) daughters, Louise (the late Frank) Matthews of Edmonton, AB, Monica (Clarence) Drebit and grandchildren, Sara and Michael Drebit of Kelowna, BC, and Judi (Donald) Melnyk of Winnipeg, MB. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 9:30 a.m. at St. Josephs Residence, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg. Private family interment. Special heartfelt thanks to the exceptionally caring and compassionate staff at St. Josephs Residence, especially Unit 2. In lieu of flowers, those who so wish may make donations to St. Josephs Residence or to the charity of ones choice. "In death we learn to cherish that which in life we take for granted."
