JUNE DAVIDSON (nee RUPPELL) 1920 - 2003 June died suddenly at the Grace Hospital on May 1, 2003, with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Bert. June will be missed by her husband Rae of 57 years; her son Ross (Sandra) in British Columbia; and grandchildren, Kevin, Sean and Robert; and granddaughter Duana of Alberta. Also survived by her sister Denise (Walter) and many nephews and nieces; sister-in-law Frances Gibble (Alan) and her family in New Zealand. June was born in Winnipeg, living in the West End, and attended Isaac Brock and Daniel McIntyre. After her marriage to Rae, they resided in rural Charleswood for 42 years. She spent many years working in the medical profession as a receptionist and secretary. In her earlier years she was very active in the ACW at St. Marys Anglican Church and the Roblin Park Community Club. June enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in British Columbia on her annual visit. She also loved her garden and took great pride in her flowers and shrubs. Rae and June spent 17 years of annual winter visits to Corpus Christie, TX. She will be sadly missed by her many friends as she always went out of her way as a gracious host and tried to please everybody. Funeral service will take place on May 5, at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., viewing will be one-half hour prior to service. Rev. T. Harwood-Jones officiating. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Pallbearers are Stan Baleja, Earl Fast, Bob Ruppell, Tom Captain, Ken Bolt, and Red Weatherby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Assocociation, 2-836 Ellice Ave., Winnipeg, R3G 0C2 or a charity of your choice.
