PAUL SAWRY Peacefully at home on May 1, 2003, our loving father and friend left us. He is predeceased by his loving wife Sophia, whom he adored. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his children, Patricia and husband Bill, Richard and wife Kristine, Linda and husband Jim, Betasha. Grandchildren, Gregory and wife Elaine, David and wife Melanie, Lynx, Taylor, Amber, Travis, Deana; great-grandchild Samuel. His sisters, Rose and Stella will have cherished memories, and he will be missed by sister-in-law Elsie; niece Helen and husband Fred and wonderful friends, George and Bernice. Paul was born in Mink Creek, MB on February 24, 1918, one of many children. He joined the army and fought overseas in the Second World War with the 1st Hussars 6th Armoured Regiment as a signalman. Whether he was going through the hardship of the Depression, riding the rails or fighting in the war, he always showed care and concern for his mother and siblings at home. His career with Air Canada gave stability and opened the world up to his family by going on wonderful trips. While raising his family with Sophia, he was actively involved in kids sports and a bowling league in the Isaac Brock community. One of Pauls greatest enjoyments in his later years was his daily trek to the McPhillips Street Station to join his "second" family for bingo. His loving and caring nature showed throughout his life, as did his stubborn streak. Paul formed many longlasting friendships, and will be missed. The family wishes to thank Dr. W. Poon for his wonderful care and ongoing concern for Paul. At his request, there will be no service and will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
