Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY MARGARET ANDERSON March 7, 1930 - April 30, 2003 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Shirley. After a long and courageous illness, Mom left us peacefully early Wednesday morning in her home. Mom with her family by her side, embraced one last opportunity to say goodbye before leaving to join her daughter, our sister, Lisa who preceded her. We are forever grateful that we were able to spend the last few hours with her and say our goodbyes in our own special ways. Mom will be forever missed by her loving husband Arthur Leonard of 52 years; her children, Kerry (Maggie), Shawne (Brian), Melissa, Mark (Joelle) as well as her grand-children, Samantha Pidsadny, Curtis Anderson (Terry), Taylor and Maddison Anderson; her sister Dorothy Loewen (Les) her brother Ken Dick (Joyce) and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends. Mom helped Dad run his small family business from home, which allowed her to be his helpmate as well as be available to her children as family was most important to her. Mom was a warm and caring person and will be lovingly remembered for always thinking of others first. Small things in life made her very happy, if it was a poem she came across or a song she heard on the radio it would bring a smile to her face or remind her of a story that she would then share with us. The family would especially like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at the Palliative Care Unit. Special thanks to Dr. Crow; nurses, Bonnie, Doris, Stella, her personal homecare nurse Marie; and the many others for being the special people that they are. Wed also like to thank her personal physician, Dr. Runboldt, for all his care over the years. At Moms request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and our family will celebrate her life in a private gathering. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations may be made to her favourite charity, the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Mom Youre finally at peace in the arms of The Creator. We love you, and well miss you. When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long And not with your head bowed low Miss me - but let me go For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone Its all a part of the masters plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds Miss me - but let me go. GARRY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME Cemetery and Cremation Centre 925-1120
