ADOLPH (AL) KRUSHEN Peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at the age of 85, Al passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. His wife Helen predeceased him in 1974. Al will always be lovingly remembered by his son Gary (Judy) his sister Jean; brothers, Brownie (Shirley), Edward (Frances), Larry; and special sister-in-law Louise (Sheldon). Al was born in Hubbard, SK on June 18, 1917. As a young man he moved to Winnipeg, but soon left to serve overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces, returning to Winnipeg in 1945. Al soon met the love-of-his-life Helen and they were married in 1946. Al spent his entire working career in the automotive industry, including over 30 years in various executive positions at Western Engine Limited. Although he didnt embrace the sport of golf until he was in his 40s, it became his passion. He was a member of Breezy Bend Golf and Country Club for many years, collecting several trophies from the various tournaments he played in. His quick wit and sense of humour were appreciated by all those around him. When he and his brothers got together, mayhem often ensued, particularly during the winters they spent golfing together in Phoenix. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of T-5 at the Deer Lodge Centre. The care they provided was exceptional and they truly became Als extended family. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Prayers will be conducted by Rev. Deacon Gary McCallum at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Msgr. Norman Chartrand at Blessed John XXIII Parish (Assiniboine Christian Centre), 3390 Portage Ave. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
