MARION DORA RODE (BORODEY) (nee PAWULSKI) Peacefully on May 2, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer, Marion Rode, aged 71 years, of Winnipeg Beach, MB passed away at her residence. Marion was born and raised in Winnipeg Beach. She married John Borodey and together they owned and operated a grocery store for 20 years and then a clothing store for 11 years. She was predeceased by John in 1982 and later married Otto Rode who died in 1999. She was also predeceased by a sister Elsie Motkaluk, nephews, Marvin and Raymond Motkaluk; and a niece Joaney Muswka. Marion leaves surviving her mother Mrs. Dora Pawulski and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in the South Foley Cemetery. Special thanks to the Gimli Home Care staff for their excellent care and concern. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
