JACK YOUNG After a courageous battle with cancer, Jack passed away at the age of 76 years on Friday, May 2, 2003 at his home with his wife and sons next to him. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, June. He is survived by his sons, Keith and his wife Lil, Bob and his friend Fran, Mitchell and his wife Val; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Doris; and brothers, Leonard and Arthur; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Ada and Arthur Young; sisters, Violet, Rosey, Betty; brothers, William, Eddie and Mervin. Jack was born in Winnipeg on November 14, 1926. He met June Paquin in 1946 and they married in 1950. In his younger years, Jack ranched and worked at the race track with horses. He was in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and belonged to the No. 2 Legion. Jack took great pride in the activities of his sons and being a Transport Driver. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, May 9, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
