EDITH NORAH MOGK April 30, 1912 - May 3, 2003 Peacefully at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, Norah Mogk passed away on May 3, 2003. Norah was the youngest daughter of the late Robert James McConnell and Edith Emma McConnell (nee Meikle). Her husband Murray, sisters, Anna Tjaden and Margaret Robson; and brother Jim McConnell predeceased her. Her son Don and wife Deb of Elie and three granddaughters survive Norah, Terryl Mogk-Stone (Dwain) of Edmonton, Linnea of Edmonton and Kenzie of Elie. Mom was born in Carman and worked for a time in Toronto and in various locations in Manitoba. After retirement in Carman she enjoyed golfing with partner, Mildred Soutar, and always looked forward to visits from lifelong friend Iona MacKenzie. Moms happiest years were spent on the farm in Sperling and in retirement with Dad in Carman, Fort Myers, FL and Clearwater Bay, ON. She enjoyed a very close bond with father-in-law Harry Mogk and took very good care of him in his senior years. After Dads passing she enjoyed the company of Midge, her pet poodle, which she was able to keep with the help of special friend, Linda Olfrey, until taking up residence in Boyne Lodge in January 2001. To all Moms friends, neighbours, and home care workers we wish to express our sincere appreciation for all the help you gave us in caring for Mom, which allowed her to remain in her own home as long as possible. To our extended family, the Tjadens and Robsons, our thanks for your concern, love and counsel. Finally to each and every staff member of the Boyne Lodge, the love and compassion you show to each resident and the way each individual is treated with respect and dignity will always be remembered with deep gratitude. A memorial service will be held at Doyles Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. Family interment will take place at Sperling Cemetery prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norahs memory may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. Doyles Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
