Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD ARTHUR PETERSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Peterson, on May 4, 2003 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 75 years. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Sven and Norma Peterson. He is survived by his beloved wife Winnifred; children, Tom (Sarah), Doug (Cathy), Janet (Greg) grandchildren, Robert, Keith (Becci), Jeff, Stacey, Shelley, Shawna; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Madissen, Scott; brother Harold (Yvonne) in Florida; sister Myrtle in Victoria, BC; and by his Aunt Myrtle Gordon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was born September 6, 1927 and grew up in St. Vital. He married his wife, Winnie, in 1952, moving to Transcona in 1958 to raise their three children. On April 19, 2003, they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Ed spent many years working for the Manitoba Telephone System, before moving to the Winnipeg School Board as an Administrative Assistant at Sisler High School, and as a caretaker in his pre-retirement years. Ed loved to spend his summers with his family at the cabin near Lac du Bonnet. He never lost his sense of humour, joking with family and nurses, with complete disregard to his pain. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Reverend Victoria Luke officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
