Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND EDWARD PHILLIPS Peacefully, at his home in Ste. Anne, MB, Raymond Phillips passed away on Friday, May 2, 2003 at the age of 67 years. Raymond was born to James and Madeleine Phillips in Winnipeg on February 7, 1936. He was predeceased by both his parents and by his brother Norman. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Clara; son Ronald (Kirsten) daughter Janice Laurin (Pierre) grandchildren, Roger and Nicolle Laurin; brother, Allan (Annette) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ray and Clara were married on May 10, 1958 in Cayer, MB. Initially, they lived in Winnipeg, moving to Ste. Anne in 1977. Ray retired from the City of Winnipeg Parks and Rec. Department, a job in which he took great pride, in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. In summer, you could always find Ray in his garden, tending to his famous tomatoes. His loving and caring nature showed throughout the course of his life. He was a mans man and had cultivated many lasting friendships. The family extends special thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Ste. Anne Hospital, Homecare and to Dr. J.J.G. Gobeil. Memorial services will be held at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Ste. Anne on Saturday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. Father Rene E. Chartier will officiate. Interment will take place in the Ste. Anne Parish Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Rays memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9.
