PETER SINCLAIR McGREGOR On Saturday, May 3, 2003, with his family by his side, Peter peacefully passed on from this life. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Rosie; beloved daughter Anne; and cherished grandchildren, Shauna (Brian), Darren (Carlie) and David (Michelle). He is also survived by his brother Alec and sister Mary, both of Scotland, and many other family members and dear friends. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Helen; his sister Morag; and his brothers, John and Allan. Peter was born in Dalmuir, Scotland on July 19, 1918 and came to Canada in 1953 to begin a new chapter in his life. Peter and his family settled in Winnipeg where he continued working as a Journeyman in the sheet metal trade. Many of Peters favourite times were spent at Wallace Lake, where he enjoyed fishing, swimming, working on projects and telling stories till the wee hours of the morning. His family has many fond memories of their time together at "Grandpas Cabin". In recent years, Peter and Rosie enjoyed winters in Arizona and very memorable trips to Scotland, to revisit his homeland. Peter spent the last weeks of his journey in this world at St. Boniface General Hospital. His spiritual guide Sister Rose, "buddy" Timothy, student nurses Marc and Stacey, nurse Clare, who guided him into the next part of his journey, and his "Princess" from Eritrea are just a few of the special personal connections he made while he was there. On behalf of Peter, his family extends the most sincere thanks to all of the caring, devoted staff and volunteers of the Palliative Care unit, who made Peters stay there so comfortable. Please join us for a celebration of Peters life on Friday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Garry Memorial, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface General Hospital or the Winnipeg Humane Society may be made in Peters memory. Until we meet again, Grandpa. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back.
