JOSEPH PAUL DANIEL ROSS On Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital Joseph Paul Daniel Ross of Gods River passed away at the age of 53 years. Joseph was born at Gods Lake on January 20, 1950 and had resided at Gods River his entire life. At the time of his passing Joseph was currently employed as a night security guard at the Amos Okemow Memorial School at Gods River. He will be remembered as an excellent guide, trapper and fisherman. Joseph had a big and loving heart and was always willing to help everyone. His pride and joy was his little grandnieces and nephews. Joseph leaves to mourn his passing his daughters, Agnes Trout (Dennis) grandchildren, Rochelle, Shawna, Dustin, Ginnelle; daughter Kathleen; and son Dorie Joe residing in Portland, Oregon; his dad Ellis Ross; father-in-law Isiah Kirkness; brothers and sisters, Eddie Ross (Viola), Irene Okemow (Percy), Rex Ross (Hagar), Catherine Fox (Joe), Sandy Ross (Sylvia), Alice Yellowback (David), Betty Wood (Anthony), Roderick Ross (Joyce), Louise Okemow (Desmond), Mervin Ross (Lorraine), Merphia Ross; adopted brothers, John J. Okemow (Esola), Moses Okemow (Ann), Marcel Okemow (Barbara) sisters-in-law, Rosalie Hastings, Beatrice Chubb, Sharon Chabauty (John) brother-in-law Clarence Kirkness (Hilda), Mark Kirkness; aunties and uncles, Clara Wood (Sandy), Jemima Ross, Alexander Ross (Hilda), Louie Ross (Rosabella). He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ross; mother Agnes; and stepmother Hilda; by his adopted parents, Amos and Jemima Okemow; mother-in-law Theresa Kirkness; grandparents, Roderick and Nancy Ross, Joniah and Alex Snowbird; sisters, Louisa Hastings and Louisa Ross; brother John Mark; grandnephew Dustin Mason; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ross (Cooper), Bertha Kirkness; nephew Cooper Okemow. Prayers will be said Monday, May 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 at Gods River. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Gods River Community Hall with Rev. Hilda Perch and Pastor Marcel Okemow officiating. Interment to follow at Gods River Cemetery.
