DENNIS (RED) VERSCHEURE Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Red, born December 15, 1934, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2003. He was predeceased by his father, Leo in 1960. He is survived by his mother, Gabrielle; his sisters, Florence, Lorraine (Dave) and his brother, Henry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Red lived in St. Norbert all of his life. After working at several jobs, Red and Henry purchased Hespeler Service which they later sold and purchased the garage in La Salle, MB. He sold that service station and went into semi-retirement, operating Reds Towing until only a few years ago. Red was a happy-go-lucky person ready to help anyone. He was a member of the Belgian Club and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3870. He also served as membership chairman on the Board of Trustees. The family would like to thank all the homecare workers, and the doctors, nurses and staff on 5A Medicine at the St. Boniface Hospital and at the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place. As per Reds wishes, there will be no formal service. Private interment of Reds cremated remains will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, a donation in Reds memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 200 - 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8. Rest in Peace. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
