Both are now sadly missed by their children, Ann (Bob deceased) Beaque, Judi (Jerry) Hannon and David (Lesley) Dickson. Ken was born October 27, 1919. He grew up in Winnipeg and moved to Toronto where he and his brother Robert went in to carpet and flooring business. Enlisting in the Second World War, Dad went to Shilo where he served as a Lieutenant in the motor pool, training men to ride motorcycles. Sent overseas and serving in England, Dad was diagnosed with TB and had one lung removed. He returned to Winnipeg and met Vera, the love of his life. He worked at Gaults, Buckwolds and finally GE Shnier Company as office manager, from where he retired and enjoyed many long days at Grand Marias with his wife, doing the seniors thing. Vera became sick with Alzheimers and Ken devotedly attended to her every need until she was placed at the Convalescent Home, where Ken went every day to feed and be with Vera. After Vera passed away, life slowed and he got great joy from his three newest grandkids, Peirce, Kennedy and Thomas. The older grandchildren, Mitchell, Cheryl, Lori and Robert had brought him wonderful joy in years past. Funeral service will take place on Friday, May 9 at 12:00 noon in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. What made us lovers In the long ago. When we first met? Well I think I know. The best in me, And the best in you.
