FRED KOPYTKO Fred Kopytko, beloved husband of Lillian passed away peacefully in the Riverdale Health Centre, Rivers, MB on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. Fred was born in Alonsa, MB on July 28, 1926 to John and Irene Kopytko. He married Lillian Sul in 1954, and they farmed in Alonsa. Fred possessed a true love of the land and of animals, and he could most often be found out in the pasture, checking on his horses, usually accompanied by a faithful pet. Fred retired from cattle ranching several years ago and pursued his hobby of raising horses. In 2002, they sold the farm and moved to Rivers. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Irene; brothers, Henry and William; and his sisters, Olga and Katie. He is remembered by his wife Lillian; daughter Shelley Foster (Rod) son Myles (Kathleen) grandchildren, Rebecca and Mitchell; brothers, Walter, Johnny, Peter, Ernie and Joseph; and sisters, Annie, Mary, Effie, Aileen and Doreen. Funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Rivers, MB at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9. Interment will take place at the Rivers Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship and refreshment at the Ukrainian Hall, Rivers. Flowers are gratefully declined.
