MICHAEL KWASNY On Tuesday, May 6, 2003, Michael Kwasny passed away at Red River Place, Selkirk at the age of 85 years, formerly of Arnes, MB. Surviving to mourn his loss, sisters, Pauline (Maurice), Mary; sister-in-law Anne and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Kateryna Kwasny; sisters, Nettie, Anne; brothers, William (Second World War), Peter, Fred; sister-in-law Mary; brother-in-law Mike. Michael was born and raised in Teulon. He was a Second World War Veteran. Upon returning he moved to the farm at Teulon where he raised a fine herd of hereford cattle. After selling the farm, Mike moved to Teulon where he built a house. After a year in Teulon he moved to Arnes where he built another house. He worked for a number of years in the housing industry, from which he gained the knowledge to build his own houses. He was an avid gardener who took great pride in the produce he grew. Many of his friends and family were the recipients of the produce from his garden. Mike could always be found outside in his yard tending to his garden. Michael was a kind, generous, proud and private individual. He was most at home outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Mike loved his home and never wanted to leave it. The family would like to thank the home care workers, Shelly, Donna, Janet, Anne; two special neighbours, Minnie and Stanley and special housekeeper, Collette, who Mike thought of as a daughter. A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. Ken Anstie will officiate with interment to follow at the Windsor Cemetery. Everyone who knew Mike can consider themselves an honorary pallbearer. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
