Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENE JOSEPH DUPRAS October 27, 1922 - March 20, 2003 Rene passed away peacefully at age 80, on March 20, 2003. Rene joins in Heaven, his parents, Xavier and Victorine; brothers, Joseph, Eugene, Laurent, Marc, Leo, Damien Dupras; and his dear friend Joe. He is survived by brothers, Andre and Leo Dupras; sister Julienne Souque; and their families. Rene will especially be missed by his "little" family, niece Jan (Bob) McGiffin of Winnipeg, MB, and great-niece Sandra (Jos, Luc and Alixe) Lamoureux of Port Alberni, BC. Rene was born in St. Lupiciz, MB, moving to Vancouver, BC as a young man. He shared his skill and love of ballroom dancing as an instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance School, and later enjoyed his work experiences in construction camps and logging camps as a "bull cook". Rene was a nature enthusiast and avid photographer, recording scores of family events and his extensive world travels. After a serious stroke in 1999, Rene was moved to Port Alberni to be closer to family. He loved his home at Westhaven, and especially the able and caring "family" staff there. Rene had a twinkle in his baby blues right up to the time his spark and life slipped away. We all loved him very much and will miss him dearly. Rene requested no funeral service, and cremation has taken place.
