ANNA (ANNIE) KEEDIAN (nee DAMAN) March 12, 1908 - May 8, 2003 Annie, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away on May 8, 2003 at Grace Hospital at the age of 95. Mom was born in Winnipeg and at the age of five moved with her family to the homestead at Dog Lake near Ashern. She enthralled three generations of her family as she related her adventures there. When she was 12 the family moved back to Winnipeg. As a teenager Mom began her work with Eatons, 10 years before her marriage and for more than 20 years when she returned to work after raising her family. Following her retirement from Eatons she worked for a short time with Ludwicks Catering and Helmsdale Drugstore. In 1934 Mom married Roy Keedian and they made their home in Birds Hill where Mom resided for most of her life. She did spend some years in North Kildonan, where she made many new friends at 1590 Henderson Hwy. The past five years she had resided with her daughter, Jackie, in Birds Hill. Mom was predeceased by her husband Roy in March of 1967; her mother and father, Marie and Jan Daman; sisters, Dene Mulder and Mary Doherty; and her brother John Daman. She is survived by her son Gary (Diane) and daughter Jacqueline Waddell (Doug) three granddaughters, Erin, Shauna and April (Bruce Mineault) Keedian; two grandsons, Garth (Jan) Waddell, Harley (Tara) Waddell; and her three "bonuses" great-grandchildren, Brayden, Parker and Robyn Waddell. Mom is also survived by two sisters, Jo Morton and Leida Topley; and two brothers, William (Roberta) and Chris (Mollie). Moms family was her life and her love for them had no limits or conditions. Her thoughts were always for others, never herself. Her greatest pleasure was in giving. Her greatest joy was to cook and bake and entertain. Her delicious meals have been enjoyed by so many. Mom was a wonderful hostess. Her riches were not in an accumulation of wealth but rather in the warmth and richness of relationships with family and friends. Moms favourite times in the summer were spent at her cottage at Betula Lake where she could watch the wildlife and marvel at the colours of the sunset. Mom also had a long association with Birds Hill United Church, especially the womens group. Her lemon pies were always in demand at bake sales and dinners. A celebration of Moms life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Birds Hill United Church Memorial Fund, in care of Dorothy Beacom, 2105 Burton Ave., East St. Paul, MB R2E 0V8.
