THELMA SINCLAIR Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of our sister, mother, grandmother and aunt, Thelma Sinclair (nee Ballantyne) of Winnipeg, formerly of Grand Rapids, MB on May 7, 2003. Thelma is survived by her husband Clifford Sinclair (Lake St. Martin), father of Debra Sinclair (William Flett) of Winnipeg, Christina Sinclair (Winnipeg), Diane Sinclair (Lake St. Martin), Donald Thomas (Easterville) father of Donalda Sinclair (Faron Ross) her only son and baby Donald Thomas-Sinclair of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren, Waylon, Mason, Simeon Smith, Ashton, Kristen Sinclair, Lynzee and Jessica Sinclair; special grandson, Faron Ross Jr.; special niece Lois Sinclair; nephew Cecil Sinclair; brother Arnold Ballantyne (Grand Rapids) sisters, Gertrude (Ernest) Sumner (Lake St. Martin), Rosalie (Silas) Woodhouse (Fairford) and Connie (Len) Young (Grand Rapids) adopted sister, Marianne (Bryden) Anderson (Norway House) mother-in-law Pricilla Sinclair (Lake St. Martin) aunt Rachel George (Easterville) numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Hardisty (August 14, 1963) and Catherine (May 4, 1987) brother Joe Ballantyne (March 16, 1995) sisters, Mary Beardy (October 30, 1995), Flora Packo (March 13, 1997) brother-in-law Boniface Packo (February 12, 1987) father-in-law Daniel Sinclair (October 16, 2001). Thelma was born on December 13, 1950 in Grand Rapids where she lived most of her life until she moved to Winnipeg in 1993. Thelma was a homemaker in Grand Rapids. She liked listening to gospel music and loved being around friends and family, especially her grandchildren and her godchild Charmaine Ballantyne. Thelma will be sadly missed and memories of her will remain in our hearts forever, especially her beautiful music. Special thanks on behalf of the family to the Chief and Council of Grand Rapids First Nation and also Ida Ross for her support. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Fairford House of Prayer, Fairford, MB. Wake services will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Band Hall, Grand Rapids. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Band Hall, Grand Rapids with Rev. Douglas Highway officiating.
