JOHN KOSLOWSKY After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, John Koslowsky, at the age of 72 years. John passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2003 with his family at his side at St. Boniface General Hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, daughters, Arlene (Robert) Bruneau, Andrea (Tim) Toews, Sheila (Glenn) Rempel, Tracy (Erik) Perison, Kari (David) Hertzsprung; grandchildren, Christine (Steve), April, Michelle, Brent, Isaiah, Thomas, Kaitlin, Hannah, and Jonathan. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Agatha Koslowsky, two brothers, one sister and one brother-in-law. John was born on April 8, 1931 in Niverville, MB where he grew up on the farm. In his early years he attended the Leblanc School, and he finished his high school education at Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna. He pursued a career in agriculture and business at University of Manitoba and Success Business College. He moved on to become a successful businessman and president of Puratone Corporation from where he retired in 2001. John was a devoted husband for 43 years to Helen, whom he married on June 13, 1959. As his children, we thank our Dad for carrying on to leave us a legacy of generosity, patience, honesty and a consistent faith in God. His many interests included involvement in golf, curling, bowling, gardening, hockey and music. Johns passion was in serving his Lord and Master. His commitment to love God was demonstrated in all aspects of his life, including business, social, family, and church. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the medical and nursing staff in St. Boniface General Hospital, De-Salaberry Medical Center in St. Pierre and Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. A special thanks to the staff in Emergency and the Medical Intensive Care Unit at St. Boniface General Hospital for their tireless efforts on Johns behalf, and genuine care and concern shown for him and the family in his final hours. Viewing will take place Wednesday, May 14 at Klassen Funeral Chapel at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15 at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Rd.
