Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ALEXANDER (ALEX) MCLEAN April 18, 1913 - May 10, 2003 Alex passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, May 10 at St. Boniface Hospital. We had just celebrated his 90th birthday. He is sadly missed by his loving wife Irene. He is also survived by his children, Wendy Jeffery of BC, Donald of BC and Bonnie (Al) Pirch of Winnipeg and their mother Lillian McLean. Left to mourn also are six grand-children, Ben and John Jeffery, Teagan and Tiffany McLean of BC, and Michael (Pat) Creighton and Shannon (Greg) Griffiths of Winnipeg. There are two great-grandchildren. Dad was born in Winnipeg and lived here most of his life. He owned McLean Electric for many years and had a long career in the electrical contracting business. In earlier years he enjoyed time spent in the Whiteshell at White and Jessica Lakes. Dad and Irene enjoyed their summers at Traverse Bay and their winters in Arizona. For many years they have lived in Evergreen Place in Winnipeg. Dad was a quiet, kind and gentle man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of B5 at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and care. Also special thanks to Dr. FJ Ross who took such good care of dad for many years. No flowers please, but if you wish, donations to Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Dr., Kanata, ON K2M 2W1. Cremation has taken place with memorial service to be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22 at Augustine United Church at 444 River Ave. Officiated by Rev. Paul Campbell. Interment at a later date.
