Vaso was born on Jan 9, 1932 in the Village of Pjescanica, Vrginmost in the former Yugoslavia. He was predeceased by his father Stanko in 1943, mother Angelija in 1974 and brother Djuro in 1998. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years Stanica (nee Macut) children, Danika Dixon and husband Tony and children, Peter, Alex and Samantha, Mira Brown and husband Craig and children, Breanna, Cassandra and Rebecca and George Krasulja and wife Cathy and children, Paige and Taylor. He also leaves to mourn nephew Zeljko Krasulja (Lily) of Michigan, niece Maca Arlov (Milan, Milana) of Belgrade, sister-in-law Mila Krasulja in Croatia and many more family and friends in Toronto and Europe. After surviving the Second World War and many other hardships, Tata brought his family to Canada in the fall of 1973 seeking a better life for his family. He worked for North American Lumber until 1990, at which time he began working for Star Building Materials, where he made many long lasting friendships until his retirement in 2000. Tata loved working with wood as witnessed by his many creations. He loved spending time with his family, and some of best memories he leaves us are of the many pig roasts and family gatherings, which he presided over with his insights and humour. Tata spent many summer vacations taking his family back to his homeland where he taught us the importance of our culture and heritage. Many thanks to Dr. Wong and the nurses and staff of 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for all the compassionate care shown to Vaso and the family during this difficult time.
