GUDRUN (RUNA) MANGL March 20, 1922 - May 11, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Runa on May 11, 2003 at the University of Alberta Hospital. By her side were her loving husband Oscar, daughter Karen Linde, granddaughter Kristen Linde and great-grandchildren Jordan and Miranda Brown. Runa will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son-in-law Eric Linde; her grandson Craig Linde (Rhonda Friesen) her brother Svein Palsson (Kay) her sister-in-law Hilda Clark (Jim) as well as several nieces, nephews and many very special friends. Runa was born in Riverton, MB and after attending Winnipeg Normal School, she ventured out to Grahamdale to begin a long career teaching school in the Lakeshore School Division until her retirement. In 1945 she married Oscar and together they enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage. Her family was her greatest pride. Runa lived her life to the fullest with determination and optimism and was active in many things. Possessing an exceptional gift for organization, she was an asset in her position as Secretary of the Lakeshore Hospital Guild for many years. She loved music and was a member of the Lakeshore Choral Society. She enjoyed her travels with Oscar to Europe and various places in North America. Runa touched many peoples lives with her generosity and thoughtfulness. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or to give a caring word to those who needed it, which helped her make many friends over the years. Every person was treated specially and to Runa, they were all special. We have beautiful memories that will keep Runa alive in our hearts and the family asks that you help them to celebrate her life. According to Runas wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Runas life will be held on Monday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ashern Centennial Hall, Ashern, MB, with Pastor Saar officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Runas memory can be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild c/o Doreen Szczersk P. O. Box 489, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 To Those I Love, And Those Who Love Me When Im gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do, You mustnt tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my love, you can only guess, How much you gave to me in happiness, I thank you for the love you have shown, But now its time I travelled on alone. So grieve a while for me if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust, Its only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I wont be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come, Though you cant see me or touch me, Ill be near and if you listen with your heart. Youll hear, all my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone; Ill greet you with a smile and say "Welcome Home".
