PETER CHARLES BENNETT Peter Charles Bennett passed away at Grace Hospital May 13, 2003, the dearly loved husband of Joyce. He served with the British Army during the war and then a year in India. He immigrated to Canada and joined the firm of Hobarts in Toronto and then he came to Winnipeg. He was then a salesman and became Regional Manager. He married Joyce in 1953 and they resided in St. James. He retired in 1986 after 38 years with the company. He was a member of the St. James Horticultural Society, also Charleswood. A keen gardener, he won many prizes and he enjoyed the judging of vegetables for the local shows. He was also a member of Westminster Church since 1953. The last year, he resided at Oakview Nursing Home due to ill health. He was a very outgoing man and enjoyed many friends here in Winnipeg and across Canada. Besides his loving wife and companion, he leaves to mourn his dearly loved sisters in England, Irene and Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Westminster United Church on Tuesday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens prior to the service. The service will be conducted by both ministers Robert Campbell and Rose Ferris. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Peters memory.
