MARIE-JEANNE LABOSSIERE Peacefully with her nephew at her side, Marie-Jeanne left her cares behind to be with God, on May 11, 2003, at Tache Centre. She was predeceased by her parents, Malvina and Damien LaBossiere; her brothers, Camille and Norman; her sister, Lorenda, Therese (Terry Caslake) and a niece Colleen. Marie-Jeanne is survived by sisters-in-law, Mimi LaBossiere and Betty LaBossiere; a niece Michelle LaBossiere and nephews, Cam LaBossiere, Guy LaBossiere and Ricky Caslake. She also leaves grand-nieces and nephew, Regon, Robyn, Rebecca, Carlie and Chris. She grew up near McArthur Falls in a log home built by her father and attended the first Crescent Bay School in the 1930s. After moving to Winnipeg, "Joan" loved to go with her sister Terry, to the Big Band dances at River Park in the 1940s, at the end of the old trolley line where Osborne Street meets the Red River. She became a hairdresser and moved to Florida for a number of years. Upon returning she worked at Jerrys Hairstyling in Grant Park until her retirement. She went through difficult times in her life in the 1970s and 80s, but was welcomed into the open arms of the Grey Nuns at Tache Centre, where she spent the remaining years of her life in happiness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. Her family thanks God for His gift to Joan, the staff at Tache Centre, with special thanks to Linda, Lorraine and Beatrice for all their care and compassion.
