Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES (BUD) MacLENNAN December 23, 1922 - May 11, 2003 On May 11, 2003 at the Grace General Hospital, Charles Harry Mitchell MacLennan passed gently into eternity. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Charles Kenneth and Frances Constance; brother Raymond (Paddy) and sister Margaret Farmer. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Margaret; step children, Elizabeth (Tim) Martinuk, Bruce Plant; six grandchildren; sister-in-law Priscilla "Cil" MacLennan; brother-in-law Sid Farmer; nephews, Raymond (Beverley), Ken (Lorraine) and Keith (Nancy) MacLennan, Sid Jr. (Wendy) Farmer and Barb (Josh) Halprin; many great nephews and nieces; and a host of fraternal brothers, sisters and friends. His 52 years service in the Independent Order of Oddfellows and 47 years in the Rebekahs were filled with outstanding dedication in the following offices: Past Grand Master, Past Grand Representative, Past Grand Patriarch of Encampment, Past Grand Representative of Grand Encampment, Past Department Commander of the Department of Man-Dak, Past Representative to General Military Council, He was currently the Grand Patriarch of the Encampment of North Dakota, and Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba and Past Grand Monarch of El-Mahdi Sanctorum, the Mystic Order of the Samaritans. After working his early years at Ashdowns and subsequent retirement from his career working for the City of Winnipeg Hydro, as a small appliance repairman Bud joined the "Dunworkin Duffers" and could be found with his buddies on the links. When not golfing, he was an avid bowler, inspired to continue pursuit of this recreational passion after a perfect score of 450 points in 1963. Bud was a quiet, gentle man with a great sense of humour and charity. The family is grateful and expresses public thanks to the wonderful staff of the Grace Hospital for their care. A memorial service to celebrate Buds life will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Assiniboia Christian Center at 3390 Portage Ave. with the Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. Interment to be in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to Pallbearers Ray, Ken, Keith MacLennan, Sid Farmer Jr., Bruce Plant and Robert Gravlin also to Trevor Magee and Norman Brown for their eulogies. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Oddfellow and Rebekah Memorial Eye Foundation, Box 132, 4025 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3R 3V5 or other charity of your choice.
