CLAUDIA ANNE SIEMENS (nee KENDALL) Peacefully, on May 10, 2003, at the Grace Hospital, due to complications from her life-long struggle with Spina Bifida, Claudia Siemens passed away. Born in Edmonton, February 13, 1951, to George and Mary Elizabeth (Bess) Kendall, Claudia was a warm, smiling child who ignored her physical limitations and went on to finish high school and begin a career as a typesetter. As an adult, Claudia refused to be slowed down by her disability and remained fiercely independent of her freedom and mobility. Loved Mother of her only son Kevin, Claudia leaves her three brothers, Rudyard, Robert and Michael of Vancouver, BC, cousins, nieces and nephews, plus many friends who admired her fierce independence and refusal to be limited by her physical handicaps. She will be remembered for her humour, kindness and indomitable spirit. A special thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital and to her home care helpers, Lynn, Kristina, Susan, Leslie, Sanny and many others. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada (SBHAC) would be appreciated.
