MURIEL LILLIAN ETHEL COTTER, B.A. April 24, 1910 to May 12, 2003 Peacefully at Extendicare Oakview Personal Care Home, May 12, 2003. Muriel was a lifelong resident of St. James and spent all of her working life in the employ of the Manitoba Workers Compensation Board. While there she gained the distinction of being the first female claims officer in Canada. She was a lifetime member of St. James Anglican Church, serving in many of the churchs organizations. For many years she was active in Toastmasters and always enjoyed playing bridge, and had travelled extensively. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Walter, and Cecil; and her sister Adelaide. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by many friends. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate St., Winnipeg, on Friday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers respectfully declined and contributions in lieu thereof to St. James Anglican Church would be appreciated. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
