GERALDINE (GERRY) FRANCES GIBB (nee ALLAN) 1922 - 2003 Gerry passed away peacefully on May 13, 2003 at Grace Hospital after a lengthy period of hospitalization. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years Bill, her son Allan, and grandson Brendan, granddaughter Heather, and her brother Terry (Helen), along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harriet and Jim Allan; as well as by her sisters, Patsy, Lois and Jackie. Gerry was born on April 7, 1922 and lived all her life in Winnipeg, attending Principal Sparling and Daniel McIntyre schools. Gerry, Bill and Allan had a summer cottage on Lake Manitoba at Laurentia Beach where they spent many happy times, most often in the company of their true and cherished friends, Walt and Denise Ritchie and their family. The foursome whiled away many delightful hours playing cribbage as the "Happy Hour Peggers." The family is most appreciative of the compassionate care Gerry received from the doctors, nurses and staff at the Deer Lodge Centre, Wing 2 West and at Grace Hospital, Wing 4 West. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway and Furby Street, with Rev. Canon Ron McCullough officiating. The service will terminate at the funeral home and will be followed by a reception. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Stroke Recovery Association, 1 - 333 Vaughan St. or to a charity of their choice.
