NATALIE UKRAINIC (KRISTALOVICH) Peacefully, after a brief illness, Natalie Ukrainic, aged 81, passed away on May 12, 2003, at her residence at Oakview Extendicare. Her husband Peter predeceased her in 1986. Mom was born December 10, 1921, in Sandy Lake, MB. She married Peter in 1940. Her children, Mabel and Tom Armstrong, Eugene and Myrtle Ukrainice, Theresa and Peter OToole and Marcia and Sam Tschetter survive her. Grandchildren Tom Jr. (Erin) Keith, Todd, Darryl, Christine, Kate and Samantha. Great-grandchildren Marlowe and Annika. Also survived by her brothers, Eugene, Donny, Nick and Joe and sisters, Teenie, Regina and Livinia. Brothers, Mike, Paul, Zenon and sisters, Edith and Helen predeceased her. Always an active person, she donated many hours to her church, especially enjoying the companionship of other womens league members on the perogy assembly lines. She took great pride in this, as she did in the Red Cross certificate that she proudly displayed on her wall recognizing her for the many volunteered hours towards the children of the Third World Countries. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview Extendicare for their professional care and all family and friends who visited her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Basils Elevatory Fund, 202 Harcourt St., Winnipeg MB R3J 3H3 or Oakview Recreation Dept., 2395 Ness Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 1A5. Prayers will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church, officiated by Father Isidore Dziadyk.
