Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBINA RUTH YAGAR (Wharrie/Haines) July 25, 1920 - May 10, 2003 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, our mother Bina passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Meadowood Personal Care Home. Predeceased by husband John Killan Wharrie; father Herb Haines; mother Janet Haines; sister Louise Bryan; grandsons, Brian Wharrie and Gary Meier. Survived by her four children, Tony Wharrie (Carol), Ladysmith, BC; Jacqueline Meier (James), Massey, ON; Margaret Sinclair (Bruce), Selkirk, MB; Sandra Wharrie of Winnipeg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bina converted to the Jewish faith on July 6, 1969, which was a source of great spiritual comfort to her. Mom was a truly independent spirit with a great love for life, and known for her great strength of will. She was also well known for her compassion towards those less fortunate than herself and will no doubt be met by many old friends who have gone on ahead. We wish to thank the staff and many residents at Meadowood Personal Care Home who provided her with comfort and friendship over the past four years. In keeping with our mothers wish, a private service was held on Tuesday, May 13 at Cropo Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Binas memory to Canadian Diabetes Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Winnipeg Humane Society. We will miss her presence, her smile, her songs.
