WILFRED McCORRISTER May 20, 1932 - May 14, 2003 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Wilfred McCorrister of Peguis First Nation, left us to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 70 years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving devoted wife of 46 years, Audrey; his daughter Juliet (Wallace) Sutherland; his grandchildren, John, Charles, Audrey and Beverley; his son Wayne (Sharon) Lambert; his grandchildren, Amanda, Lynnea and Brandy; his sisters, Marlene Feenstra of Winnipeg, Bernice (Arthur) Macholz of Hodgson, Doris (Ken) Sinclair of Peguis, Shiela (Jan) Wolynski of St. Andrews and foster sister Harriet Thompson of Winnipeg; his sisters-in-law, Elma Matheson of Gimli and Kathleen (William) Wood of Sioux Lookout, ON; his brothers, Morris (Annette) McCorrister, Walter (Olive) McCorrister, Harvey (Doris) McCorrister all of Peguis, and Robert McCorrister of Winnipeg; his brothers-in-law, Theodore (Nora) of Fisher River, Marshall (Thelma) of Winnipeg, Ken (Doreen) of Winnipeg and Stuart (Ernestine) of Winnipeg. Also left to mourn are his special uncle Wilbert Spence of Peguis Senior Centre and his special auntie Winnie Spence of Peguis Senior Apartments; as well as other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, George (January 1986) and Mary (March 1977) McCorrister; and by his brother Jason McCorrister (February 1982). Wilfred was a farmer all of his life until he retired in 1993. He and Audrey travelled in their motorhome many a highway. He loved to tell jokes, play tricks on his friends and family. Wilfred enjoyed having coffee with Audrey in their new home. He was so proud of their new home. He often sang hymns and quoted scriptures to Audrey. Wilfred accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour many years ago. He put his faith and trust in God all of his life. Wake services will be held on Saturday, May 17 and on Sunday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. both evenings. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. All services will be held at the Peguis Apostolic Church, Peguis, MB, with Kathy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery. Special thanks to the Peguis Chief and Council, Percy E. Moore and Health Sciences Centre doctors and staff, Emergency responders and all those who assisted the family during the loss of our loved one.
