LEA MERRIAM (Wallace) March 29, 1934 - May 14, 2003 Peacefully, with her family at her side, Lea passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 47 years, Ed, her son Laurie (Susan), daughter Faylene (Ron), and grandchildren, Jesse, Sam, Kaylee and Jessica. She was predeceased by son Terry. Lea was born in Winnipeg and attended Greenway School and Daniel McIntyre High School. She enjoyed spending summers at the cottage at Whytewold, and winters in Apache Junction. Lea was an active golfer in the Kildonan Park Ladies Golf Club and the Harbour View Ladies League. The family is most appreciative of the compassionate care Lea received from Dr. Jaeger, Dr. Danner, Dr.Patel, Dr. Varma, Dr. Taraska, the Respiratory Therapy staff, and the nurses and staff of the ER, 5U7 and 5U1, at Seven Oaks. Thanks also, to Dr. Chowdhury, Dr. Navaratnam and the nurses at CancerCare Manitoba for all their care and attention. A celebration of Leas life will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Catherine Anglican Church, 3202 Birds Hill Rd., Birds Hill.
