HAROLD STEPHEN BOAKES 1915 - 2003 Peacefully at the Grace Hospital, Harold Boakes, beloved husband of Verna, passed away on May 13, 2003. Born and raised in Estevan, SK, son of the late Charles and Etta Boakes. Following his education, he lived and worked in Bissett at the San Antonio Gold Mines (Assayer). During the Second World War he joined the R.C.A.F. and, following training, he served abroad (Radar Officer). After the war, Harold worked for Nortel (Northern Electric) retiring after 31 years. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Milne and Florence (Flo) Campbell. Besides Verna, he is survived by his nieces and nephews, and will be sadly missed by Vernas siblings and their families. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Hospice Fund, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or a charity of ones choice. Cremation and interment have taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
