Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA KLIMCHAK (nee Bodykevich) Peacefully, in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, 2003, Olga passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 70. She was born December 2, 1932, in Winnipeg. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Atanazie (Tony) daughter Mary (Michael) Gnutel with sons, Joshua, Matthew and Stephen; daughter Vera (Andrew) Lorenzen with sons, Andrew-John (A.J.) and Brandon of Eston, SK; daughter Nadia; son Dmetro (Terry) son Paul; daughter Ann (James) Grant with sons, Devon and James of Winnipeg Beach, MB. She is also survived by brothers, William (Nadia) of Toronto, Alexander (Mary), Thomas (Oksana), Dmetro (Frances) and numerous nieces and nephews. Olgas younger years were spent Ukrainian dancing and singing in the choir at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church. After high school, she worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto and later transferred to Winnipeg where she met and married her husband Atanazie. Together, they resided in Transcona until 1963 when they moved to Eriksdale, MB. There, they owned and operated the Eriksdale Hotel with Dmetro and Frances Bodykevich until 1973. Moving back to Winnipeg, they then owned and operated the St. Boniface Hotel until 1978. For the last 30 years, Olga has been a longtime member and a past President of the Womens League at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. She has also spent her remaining years enjoying her seven precious grandsons and all their activities. Many thanks to Rev. Fr. Darren Kawiuk, Deacon Victor Humniski, Dr. Gorski and the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of Concordia Hospital for all the compassionate care shown to Olga and the family during this difficult time. Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. followed by prayers at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 19. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, all at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish, Munroe and Watt. Rev. Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Cremation to follow.
