JIM LYON It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of James (Jim) Donald Duncan Lyon on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the age 57 years. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Shirley; sons, Aaron and Jamie; his mother Margaret; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Abe and Katherine Wiebe. He was predeceased by his father Joseph John S.M. Lyon, and grandmother Jane Duncan. He was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg, attending Greenway, General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Jim was employed as Production Coordinator at Spring Air Mattress Company. Jim was an avid curler and loved playing baseball. He continued his love of sports by being involved in his sons activities as coach, avid supporter and treasurer of the Optimist Track Club. Jim enjoyed travel and experiencing new locations and adventures. These were special times shared with his family. He was honoured to be an uncle to his niece, three nephews, grandniece, grandnephew and his five godchildren. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. A private interment will be held in Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to the Emergency Services personnel and Grace General Hospital staff for their efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jims memory may be made to the Silver Heights United Church Memorial Fund of a charity of ones choice.
