EVA MARIE STEVINSON (WARKENTIN) Peacefully, on May 14, 2003, Eva Stevinson, aged 84 years, entered her heavenly home. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Arthur Stevinson; four children, Carolyn (Harold) Wiens, and sons, David (Tammy), Bryan (Carla), Robert (Catherine) and Richard, Fred (Kathy) Warkentin and daughters, Karly, Jennifer (Adam), Amy (Tane), Elizabeth Marshall and children Jeffrey, Scott and Andrea, and David (Joan) Warkentin and children Matthew, Laura and John. Eva also leaves four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Karen, Sophie and Andrew Wiens; three sisters, Hedy Durksen, Olive (Len) Siemens and Ruth (Henry) Schmidt. Eva was predeceased by her first husband Frank Warkentin who died on February 12, 1970. Eva was a mother who always gave one hundred percent to her family. She was an extremely creative and caring woman, always willing to share her gifts with others through sewing, craft lessons, handwork, cooking and hospitality. Christmas crafts were her specialty and many homes have some of Evas creations to display during the Christmas season. Eva loved to watch birds at her Victoria Beach cottage and even took up golf in her later years. She was a longtime member of Bethesda Church where she was involved in many different areas of service during her lifetime. She was involved with the Christian Womens Clubs for many years and served on the St. Johns Guild of the Childrens Hospital. Eva suffered a major stroke shortly after her 80th birthday. After intensive therapy she was able to live at home until a year ago when she took up residence at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Here she was treated with dignity and respect and made many friends. A memorial service celebrating Evas life will be held on Monday, May 19 at Bethesda Church, Grant and Oxford, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Ehlers officiating. Viewing will take place at the Thomson Funeral Chapel on Sunday evening, May 18, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19 at Garry Memorial Gardens. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg or to a charity of your choice. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
