Marion was predeceased by her husband Maurice Barker in 1994; her mother Jessie in 1945; father Charles in 1949; and two brothers, Paul in 1979 and William in 1989. Marion is survived by daughters, Margaret, Ethelwyn (Leo) and son William; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her longtime friend Lillian Rhodes. The family would like to thank the staff of the Willow Unit at the Fred Douglas Lodge for their loving care, special thanks to Lorraine, Cheryl, and Joyce. Special thank-you to Rev. John Lenshyn for all his support and comfort. At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba, ON160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, Dont grieve for me, for now Im free, Im following the path, Jesus has laid you see, I took His hand when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play, Tasks left undone, must stay that way, I found the peace at the close of day, If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys, A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss, Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, I savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved ones touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, dont lengthen it now, with undue grief, Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee, God wanted me now, He set me free.
