Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I met this gentleman in St. James Legion in 1988 where we struck up a conversation re. my great uncle Rifleman Alexander Donaldson from Kilkeel, Northern Ireland who served during WW2 in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and was killed in action at Moyland Wood in February 1945. When I returned to Ireland, he wrote to me with many details of Alexander's service which was unknown to his family over here. What a fine gentleman, I often wondered how he was over the years, and only discovered today that he had passed away some years ago. He sent me a regimental tie which I proudly wear every Remembrance Sunday. I wish to send sincere condolences to the family circle of this fine gentleman ...William - Posted by: William McKnight (Friend) on: Nov 23, 2018
