Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMABEL ANN (MAE) METZLER In loving memory of Mabel Metzler (nee Hughes) of Dryden, ON (formerly of Winnipeg) who passed away peacefully on May 11, 2003 at the age of 83. Mae was born on February 17, 1920 in the Manitou, Manitoba district. She lived most of her life in Winnipeg, moving to Dryden in 1993. Mae is survived by sister Mary Amy (Phil), and brother Geordie Hughes (Gladys), both of Manitou, brother Carl Hughes of Florida; daughters, Betty Hirniak of Winnipeg and Reta Duseigne (Denis) of Dryden; and son Bruce Metzler (Mary Jean) of Vancouver; grand-children, Wesley Hirniak, Tiffany Hirniak, Deanna Kruger (Michael), Angie Duseigne (Chris Donais), Eric Metzler (Keri) and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron and Morgan Kruger and Chloe Duseigne-Donais and Jason Makowski. She was predeceased by her husband Otto; brothers, Cliff and Earl; children, Carol and Glen; and grandchildren, Michelle Duseigne and John Metzler. Mae loved living in Dryden and spent her time playing cards with her wonderful friends. She enjoyed reading, walking and spending time with her family and watching them grow. And Nan loved all those precious hugs and kisses from her great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at St. Lukes Anglican Church in Dryden on May 15, with Rev. Pat Cleghorn officiating. Interment will be held at St. Matthews Church, Newhaven, MB at a later date.
