PIETER OLIVIER It is with great sadness that the family of Pieter Olivier announces his passing on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 97 years, 4 months. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Helena; two sons, Bruce Wayne and Brian Kenneth; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands. He was predeceased by his father, mother, three sisters, one brother in the Netherlands. Pieter was called into the Army March 3, 1941, returned August 27, 1945. He later was employed by Labatts Brewery for 24 and one-half years before retirement. Pieter was a special person who lived for his family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pasen and nurses on floor 5 Victoria Hospital. Also the Home Care staff for all the care they have provided for him. He will remain in our hearts forever. We will miss you. In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away. You suffered in silence You fought hard to stay. Your spirit did not bend. You kept fighting Until the very end. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception to follow.
